Neptune Paradise Resort in Diani has taken a significant step forward in guest safety and property protection by implementing a comprehensive fire detection and alarm system. In a project completed in August 2025, RIANA Group’s USS successfully installed and commissioned an advanced fire alarm infrastructure that enhances emergency response capabilities while maintaining the resort’s commitment to world-class hospitality standards.
This strategic investment represents a milestone in hospitality safety infrastructure deployment in Kenya’s coastal region, setting new benchmarks for fire protection and emergency management in the tourism sector.
The comprehensive fire alarm system was officially handed over on August 28th, 2025, transforming how Neptune Paradise Resort monitors and responds to fire safety concerns across its expansive facility. The installation integrates multiple detection technologies and alert systems to provide comprehensive coverage, automated monitoring, and rapid emergency notification capabilities.
The heart of the system features a sophisticated MA-8000-02 main fire alarm panel that serves as the central control unit for all fire detection and alarm operations. This advanced panel continuously monitors all connected devices, processes signals, and coordinates emergency responses across the entire resort facility.
The system employs 194 intelligent smoke detectors (HM-PSE-AP) strategically positioned throughout guest rooms, corridors, common areas, and service spaces. These advanced detectors provide early warning capabilities by identifying smoke particles before flames develop, enabling swift evacuation and emergency response.
For specialized coverage requirements, five beam detectors (MI-LPB2-S31) have been installed in areas requiring long-range detection capabilities, such as high-ceiling spaces and large open areas. These optical detectors use infrared beams to detect smoke across distances, ensuring no blind spots in the resort’s fire protection coverage.
To ensure guests and staff receive immediate notification during fire emergencies, 58 sounder/flasher units have been installed throughout the property. These dual-function devices combine audible alarms with visual strobe lights, ensuring alerts reach everyone regardless of ambient noise levels or hearing abilities.
The system includes 58 manual call points positioned at strategic locations, allowing staff and guests to manually trigger fire alarms when they detect fire or smoke. These break-glass units provide an essential backup to automatic detection systems and enable immediate emergency response activation.
A repeater panel provides additional monitoring and control capabilities, enabling security and management personnel to view system status from multiple locations throughout the resort. This distributed approach ensures that emergency response teams can quickly assess situations and coordinate responses from various vantage points.
All components work together through a centralized monitoring platform that continuously supervises fire detection equipment, processes alarm signals, and activates appropriate emergency responses. The system provides comprehensive logging of all events and enables immediate notification to designated personnel and emergency services.
RIANA Group conducted extensive training sessions for Neptune Paradise Resort staff across Security, Engineering, and Management departments. The training covered all aspects of system operation, including:
The comprehensive training ensures that the resort’s team can effectively operate and maintain the system while maximising its life-safety benefits.
The successful deployment provides Neptune Paradise Resort with:
This installation demonstrates RIANA Group’s expertise in delivering mission-critical fire safety solutions for the hospitality sector. The project showcases how advanced fire detection technology can be seamlessly integrated into luxury resort environments, providing essential protection while maintaining aesthetic appeal and guest comfort.
The success at Neptune Paradise Resort reflects the growing emphasis on comprehensive fire safety systems across Kenya’s tourism industry, establishing new standards for emergency preparedness in the coastal hospitality facilities.
The fire alarm system is backed by a comprehensive one-year warranty covering all materials and workmanship. During this period, RIANA Group’s USS team provides support services at no additional cost, ensuring optimal system performance. Following the warranty period, annual maintenance contracts are available to maintain system reliability and compliance.
