Background

Jubilee Insurance, established in 1937, is a leading regional composite insurer with a broad range of insurance services across East Africa. Concerned about security at its Nairobi headquarters, Jubilee engaged RIANA Group’s unified Security Solution (USS) to deliver an integrated upgrade of its facility’s protection systems. The project’s primary goal was to enhance physical security and operational control of the premises by deploying modern, interconnected security technologies.

Client Requirements

To meet these objectives, Jubilee set out several key security requirements:

  • Comprehensive surveillance: Install a network of high-definition CCTV cameras with AI-based analytics (motion detection, night vision, etc.) to monitor all critical areas.
  • Strict access control: Deploy biometric entry readers at every staff and public entrance so that only authorised personnel can enter the building.
  • Screening equipment: Provide baggage X-ray scanners and walkthrough metal detectors at main entry points to inspect incoming packages and people for prohibited items.
  • Vehicle access control: Secure all vehicle entrances with robust barrier systems, including rising spike strips and wedge-style anti-ram barriers, as well as automated gates integrated with the access-control network.
  • Visitor management: Implement a digital Visitor Management System (VMS) to register, authenticate identity and track all guests.

Solution

USS delivered a complete, integrated security solution tailored to Jubilee Insurance’s needs. This combined advanced hardware with centralised software control. Strategically placed high‑definition CCTV cameras cover internal and external areas around the clock, and they offer features such as AI motion detection and infrared night vision.. At the main building entrances, USS installed baggage X-ray scanners and walk-through metal detectors to inspect all carried items and personnel for weapons or contraband.

For vehicular security, a layered barrier system was put in place. USS set up automated rising spike barriers and shallow-mount wedge bollards on driveways, backed by motorised gates. These gates were also integrated with the access-control system to allow only authorised vehicles, while physically blocking unauthorised ones. Finally, a digital Visitor Management System was deployed: every visitor is logged, issued a temporary badge, and linked in the system to the host. All of these components feed into USS’s centralised security management platform, giving Jubilee’s security team a single interface to monitor alarms, video feeds and access events across the facility.

Outcome

The new security deployment delivered clear, measurable benefits for Jubilee Insurance:

  • Enhanced security: The comprehensive surveillance cameras, access and biometric controls deterred any unauthorized-access incidents.
  • Improved efficiency: Automated screening and entry systems speed up checkpoints for staff and visitors, cutting manual inspections and wait times.
  • Greater confidence: Robust, end-to-end security protocols have reinforced trust among employees and clients in the safety of the premises.

By leveraging USS’s expertise, Jubilee Insurance now has a modern, fortified security infrastructure aligned with industry best practices. The integrated system provides centralized oversight and faster response, effectively transforming Jubilee’s headquarters from a potential security risk into a highly secure, well-controlled facility.
